“…finding one thing and letting everything else fall away”

Gracious, I love this. I needed this lovely exhortation today! 🤍

Thanks for these words, Kim. I like the idea of practicing slowing down for Lent (rather than, or perhaps in addition to, the typical giving something up for Lent). So often I'm running through my day, trying to balance it all but not fully giving my full attention any of it. I wonder what things I miss?

Oh yes, what do I miss. I think about that often at the end of the day when I’m lamenting how busy I was or how I rushed through things.

Fantastic, Kim. I'll take this practice with me for the rest of Lent. Thank you!

Needed this reminder, friend. Also I just started reading The Secret Book of Flora Lea yesterday and I am hooked.

ooh I feel this -- called to not do all the things but rather do one thing at a time. Beautiful words, Kim!

This is a timely reminder for me to slow down and appreciate what is right in front of me. I love the photo!!

I always need this reminder! And the photo was snapped while my daughter was taking her horse riding lesson and I decided to walk the trails for my weekly walk!

Oh my, friend, I was literally hearing a friend talk about this EXACT thing this morning! The Buddhist way of doing things, meaning, do one thing at a time, just as you were saying! 💛 What a spirit synchronicity! Thank you!

Love this. I've been multi-tasking too much lately, too. Feeling that pull to slow down & let my soul catch up. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm trying to imagine how not to be distracted as a mom. I tried it for the first week in Lent with lots of encouragement from _A Different Kind of Fast_ by Christine Valters Painter and I really, really struggled. I did not succeed even remotely.

Solidarity! I’m interested in “A Different Kind of Fast!” Is that on her website or a book?

Sorry. I should have said it's her newest book. It's really good even if I stink at it.

Very relatable! And of course I'm reading this with a million tabs open while drinking coffee and eating lunch......

I love this!! So I probably shouldn’t admit I read these words while eating my lunch. 🫣😔 But I *have* been really intentionally trying to do this more. Like when I’m reading to and praying with my youngest kids, when we’re watching a movie together or having dinner, etc. I put the books you’ve recommended here on my TBR/ library holds! Looking forward to reading them!

I tried to quote something but I couldn't choose. I love this entire piece Kim! A strong reminder as my days are filled with multitasking.
