I too loved Everything Sad is Untrue and You Could Make This Place Beautiful was stunning in the writing department. Maggie wove her stories, thoughts, and words together flawlessly.

I read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame with the rest of the bandwagon and I suggest to everyone to hop right on because they are incredible.

Educated by Tara Westover and Remarkably Bright Creatures were both amazing! This year was full of really, really good reads actually:

Someone else in my book club mentioned Fourth Wing and I hadn’t heard of it before, so now I’m intrigued!!

It’s the first book in a series (Iron Flame is #2/5). It’s very good! I’d compare my excitement to that of Harry Potter books coming out back when I was in middle school. BUT there is some extreme (and in my opinion unnecessary) spiciness in them.

Remarkably Bright Creatures has been on my list for so long! I need to prioritize it in 2024.

Ooh love this list, Kim. Thanks for sharing it. Off the top of my head, a few favorites from this year were: Lessons in Chemistry, Create Anyway, the entire Shadow and Bone YA fantasy series, In the Wild Light and You Could Make this Place Beautiful

Everything Sad is Untrue and You Could Make This Place Beautiful were also two of my favorites this year. You’re the second person to recommend West With Giraffes so I’m going to add that to my 2024 list!

I read Oliver's Devotions earlier this year as well. Such a good part of my morning reading. Love Jan Richardson. Such a sweet time going with my teenage daughter (also a writer) to an event where Kate DiCamillo was interviewed by Ann Patchett!
