Today The Beauty of Motherhood: Grace-Filled Devotions for the Early Years is available anywhere books are sold! To get here — a published author — there have been many words written in journals and Google Docs, rejections, writing workshops, conversations with friends, researching, and the gift of connecting with readers. I’ve written during nap time and in the dark of night while everyone slept. I’ve woken up early. I’ve jotted notes in my phone and on scraps of paper. I wrote, edited, wrote some more, and continued to learn and grow.

You, friend, have encouraged me along the way with your emails and letters. Every time you share my words or how they’ve met you in your life, I give thanks. So much of writing is done alone, but today I celebrate those hours and years of putting pen to paper and cherish the chance to connect with readers through The Beauty of Motherhood!

The Beauty of Motherhood is a collection of moving devotions for moms inspired by our children’s milestones and development.

It's about the early years of raising our children.

It’s about knowing that God calls us to mother. And it’s trusting that God is in every nook and cranny of our lives.

It’s about the questions moms ask: Am I doing enough? Will this season ever end? Why do I feel alone? How can I love so deeply?

The Beauty of Motherhood is ultimately a collection of stories pointing to the grace threaded through our days and the presence of a God who calls us beloved.

Erin Strybis and I wrote the devotional book we craved as moms.

We wrote it for us, but we wrote it for you too.

We wrote this book for the mom who can't find a moment to herself. The mom who is lonely and wondering if she'll see the light of day. The mom who is pacing the halls with a fussy baby. The mom who cries at every daycare drop off. The mom who wonders if her kids will have friends. The mom who desires her own friends. The mom who steps on legos and cheerios. The mom who hasn't showered in days. The mom waiting in the carpool line.

The mom who wants to remember she's not alone.
